Last chance to score a photography book

Everyone loves a stunning photography book, especially those created by an esteemed photographer and travel writer like Chris van Ryn.

And for his latest book, Bodyography, van Ryn has compiled a collection of striking black and white portraits from across the globe; think of the book as a study of the body as a storytelling medium.

Can’t you just picture it sitting stylishly on your coffee table?

From the untouched innocence of youth to flesh etched deep with the traumas of life, during the last few years the artist has captured compelling images of people in India, Cuba, Nepal, China, Mongolia and Argentina.

Van Ryn has approached his subjects as tellers of their own stories, providing the barest of context in brief accompanying excerpts.

The result is affecting, making these stark images throb in the full spectrum of life’s colour.

As well as writing books, van Ryn has also been busy crafting exceptional itineraries.

His next adventure is a Crooked Compass’ Reindeer Tour through Mongolia led by van Ryn.
