5 villas you’d die to stay in
If you’re having a bad day and wish you were somewhere else, look away – because these photos will probably make it worse.
What do you look for in a luxury holiday? The destination? Sure. Experiences? Definitely. But most importantly? Your luxe accomodation.
Villas have become some of the best, most private luxury accomodation around, and for good reason – who doesn’t want a home away from home with a king size bed and spa bath? And who cares about heading to the resort or hotel pool when you have one all to yourself?
These are just a few of the perks luxury villas provide – and we’ve got the best of the best, right here. No one does villas better than InterContinental Resorts, (did someone say award-winning?) so we’ve got some killer snaps of their South East Asia crown jewels.
Try not to cry with jealousy when you look at the pictures though, kay?
1. The InterContinental Pattaya Resort
This beach front resort overlooks the glittering Gulf of Thailand, and merges traditional Thai inspirations and elegant modern amenities to provide an amazingly authentic resort experience.
Seriously, just look at these oceanfront views.
The spacious Oceanfront Villa offers a luxuriously exclusive beachfront experience. Separate living and dining areas lead to a sun-soaked deck where, via a private infinity pool, you can take in the majestic unsurpassed views to Koh Larn Island. And did we mention the open-plan bathroom with the huge terrazzo bathtub for two?
2. The InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort
A fave among honeymooners, this Thailand resort lies on the unspoiled west coast of Koh Samui – and is perfect if you want an intimate escape complete with stunning panoramic views of the Five Islands.
The Club Beachfront Pool Villa has everything you’ve been missing – from a private pool, deck and spa amenities to a fully stocked wine bar. Yes. Please.
Pair that with round-the-clock butler service, a personal chef and the resorts huge infinity pool and you’ve got relaxation and luxury sorted.
3. The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort
Head to Vietnam and find this award-winning resort, nestled in a secluded bay on the Son Tra Peninsula. It has excellent views of the East Sea – and it’s beachfront villas are the star of the show.
The best of the best is the Sun Peninsula Residence Villa, which has not one but two infinity pools and private beach access. Compare this with a personal balcony, en-suite bathrooms and a fully equiped kitchen and you’ll never want to leave.
4. The InterContinental Hua Hin Resort
Head to this beachside resort on the Gulf of Thailand to be treated like royalty; literally. This paradise is a fave among the Thai Royal Family – and blends modern-day sophistication with local cultural elements.
The resort has two VIP Villas, with private pools and marbled bathrooms. Nothing says luxury like marbled bathrooms (or bath amenities by Bvlgari). And if you feel like you need even more of the royal treatment – fly straight from Bangkok on the resorts own private jet.
5. The InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa
Okay, this one’s not technically in South East Asia, but it definitely deserves a mention. Just look at this aerial view:
Just send us there. In a private villa you’re surrounded by crystal clear water, while the resort itself overlooks the lagoon and is enveloped by lush greenery.
The Overwater Motu Villa Suite has floor-to-ceiling windows for optimal views and is inspired by traditional Polynesian fare houses. We haven’t even been yet and we already don’t want to leave.
