Amazing Thailand Roadshow comes Down Under

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Sydney office will host its annual “Amazing Thailand Roadshow” in Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney between the 8th and 15th May.

In line with global travel trends, TAT Oceania’s marketing strategy in 2017 will focus on promoting Creative Tourism through the Unique Thai Local Experiences to create memorable and invaluable holiday experience for tourists.

Global travel trends indicate that more and more travellers are seeking personal enrichment and authentic immersive experiences, so TAT’s focus on wellness retreats, culinary experiences and local experiences such as eco-tourism and agro-tourism, fit well with global demand.

The Amazing Thailand brand will remain in place supported by the powerful narratives of “Discover Amazing Stories in Amazing Thailand”.

As part of this year’s focus on new and immersive experiences, TAT has developed five new online training modules, bringing the total number of training modules now available to eight, and will shortly be announcing incentives for travel agents to complete the new modules. Training modules cover; An Introduction to Thailand; Beaches; Food & Shopping; Action & Adventure; Romance; ASEAN Connectivity; Creative Tourism and Touring Beyond Thailand’s Big Cities.

The Amazing Thailand Roadshow is an annual event, held usually in May, for Australian and New Zealand travel professionals to network and update their knowledge on Thailand’s tourism.

Over 50 Thai hotel and tourism operators from various parts of Thailand, alongside airlines such as Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways, are expected to present at each city. Operators from well-known destinations such as Phuket, Koh Samui and Bangkok will be joined by upcoming destinations such as Khaolak, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

This year, events will be held in Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

8 May – Auckland, Sky City Auckland Convention Centre
10 May – Brisbane, Hilton Brisbane
11 May – Melbourne, Cargo Hall & Showtime South Wharf
15 May – Sydney, Dolton House, Hyde Park

Agents are encouraged to become Thailand Experts by completing the online training course. The course has been designed to give travel professionals practical and important information about Thailand, from answers to visitor’s FAQs; such as the best time to go to Thailand, how to get around, things to see and do, where to get reliable and up-to-date information and some useful travel tips. This is an opportunity for travel professionals to learn more about destinations beyond the mainstream and encourage travellers to spend more time exploring Thailand.

The workshop, which can be found at http://www.thailandtraining.com.au, covers Thailand’s more popular attractions as well as the unseen and untouched alternate destinations.
