Re-opening in November 2016, this four-star boutique resort is a resurrection of its predecessor, which was damaged by Cyclone Pam in 2015. However, after a full reconstruction and makeover, Tamanu on the Beach returns looking better than ever. This hidden gem retains its much-beloved sense for romance and privacy, but is expanded with more luxury amenities to cater for the higher-standard traveller. The resort’s original six rooms has now more than doubled to 15 discreet villas with air-conditioning; private balconies; raised stand-alone baths; and some with their own pools. Tamanu on the Beach’s renowned fine dining restaurant returns as well, showcasing local produce with a Melanesian twist. For more information www.tamanuonthebeach.com.
Port Vila Parasailing
There is no sight more magnificent than witnessing the colourful spectacle of green hues and turquoise shades while parasailing over the Port Vila harbour. After thorough safety instructions and a quick motor boat ride on the harbour, participants are gently winched into the sky, reaching up to a maximum height of 60 metres. It’s an awe-inspiring adventure with amazing views over Port Vila, Iririki Island, Mele bay and Ifira Island. For more information visit www.portvilaparasailing.com.
Mahun on the Lagoon

The restaurant offers simple Melanesian style lunch and dinner and the dining area offers spectacular views. Located only a 10 minute boat ride to the bay and the Wintua Airport, this distinctive lodge provides a cast away experience on a slice of paradise. For more information visit www.malekula.travel.
The Deli Kitchen
Renowned local catering service Kandy’s Kitchen, serving a range of gourmet and fine foods for special occasions as well as delivering home-made lunches, has opened up shop as The Deli Kitchen. Located on Mele Road in Port Vila, this small rustic and industrial coffee hub is a collaboration of Kandy’s Kitchen and Vanuatu’s famous and rich-flavoured Tanna Coffee. According to the concept ‘real food, real people and real coffee’ this idyllic store offers a range of delicious deli products including French croissants, fresh fruit smoothies and juices, salads, toasted muesli with yoghurt and of course dark and rich Tanna Coffee variations.
