Flight Centre dream trip prize to Norway
Queenslander Donna McCarthy has been announced as the winner of an all-expenses paid trip to a dream location at the Flight Centre’s annual Travel Expo.
McCarthy was given the chance to choose between five ‘Once in a Lifetime’ holidays that include an African safari with Bench International, Everest Base Camp trek from Intrepid, Rio Carnival tour with Toucan Travel and Luxury India escorted journey with Insight Vacations, opting for the Hurtigruten Northern Lights voyage valued at $9,500.
The week-long holiday for two includes return airfares, a Norway Coastal Voyage and all meals.
Coincidentally, Norway has been high on the travel agenda for some time, and Donna’s purpose for her visit to the Travel Expo was to investigate options for a similar holiday to celebrate her 50th birthday next year.
“I have never won anything and initially thought someone was playing a joke on me given it is such a big prize but now that it has sunk in I’m over the moon,” McCarthy said.
Agents to rock in Japan with Contiki and JNTO
After months of some serious hustle, sales have now turned into seats for 20 lucky agents who have been informed they will be taking off to Fuji Rock in Japan with youth travel leader, Contiki on the industry’s most anticipated incentive, ROCK Around the World.
Launching the incentive in September, Contiki provided agents with amazing deals to help them secure as many bookings as possible and hopefully land one of the top 20 seller spots. This year’s destination of Japan was revealed in January, the earliest ever, in the 14-year history of the ROCK incentive.
The 20 top selling agents (including 1 one wildcard winner) from all around Australia will depart in July. There they will join 25 other top sellers from around the world to experience Fuji Rock, as well as some of Contiki’s popular Japan Unrivalled itinerary, including Tokyo, Hakone, visiting the famous Robot Restaurant and more.
Contiki Holidays Managing Director Katrina Barry said “after 14 years running ROCK Around the World, at Contiki we’re always challenging ourselves to make the next bigger and better. I certainly think we’ve achieved that with Fuji Rock. We’re thrilled to have partnered with JNTO on this year’s trip to ensure agents experience the very best Japan has to offer. This is sure to be one of the most memorable ROCK Around the World trips ever.”
