Qantas boosts premium economy benefits with Country Road
By admin

The launch of a new amenity kit for Qantas premium economy travellers from January 26 aims to incorporate an “extra bit of luxury” with an Australian flavour into the class offering.

The unisex kit comes in a custom black and white gingham print and is the “perfect size” to fit travel amenities and use on the go, according to Qantas. The contents include a Country Road-branded eye mask, socks, a toothbrush and toothpaste.

Qantas head of product and service development Phil Capps described the new kit as an “additional” benefit for premium economy customers.

“We love what Country Road does and we’re really proud to partner with such an iconic brand to give our customers around the world an authentic Australian experience when they fly with us,” he said.

“Premium Economy is one of our most popular cabins and appeals to customers who want a little indulgence at a reasonable price, so we continue to look for ways to improve their travel experience and often it’s the little things that count.”

Although he stressed “comfort items” have always been offered in premium economy, the new kit ups the ante. They can be used after the flight as a make-up bag or a smartphone pouch he added.

Meanwhile, Country Road’s creative director Sophie Holt drew comparisons between the two brands.

“Like Qantas, Country Road has always embraced an authentic Australian way of life,” she said.

“We are passionate about providing our customers with effortless style and comfort within all aspects of their everyday life. Partnering with Qantas on the premium economy amenity kits means we are now able to extend the same modern and versatile design experience to our customers while they travel.”

The new kits will be available on all Qantas B747 and A380 services fitted with a premium economy cabin from Australia to London, Dubai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, Hong Kong, Haneda (Tokyo), Santiago and Johannesburg from 26 January 2016.
