Magellan to New Zealand in 2016

Move over sports stars, a Sudoku champion stole the show at the ‘G’ last night.

Magellan Travel Group members were invited MCC last night courtesy of sponsors APT, Virgin and Etihad, concluding Day 1 of their annual national conference.

Keynote speaker, the hilarious Mick Colliss told his tale of leading Australia’s first (and only) Sudoku championships in India last year, while members were also given a private backstage tour of Melbourne’s famed sporting grounds.

Magellan CEO Andrew Macfarlane also confirmed members will travel to New Zealand for next year’s conference, but where exactly has yet to be confirmed, with Auckland and Wellington frontrunners.

The Conference continues today with an address from AFTA CEO Jayson Westbury and Roy Morgan Research CEO Michele Levine presenting the State of the Nation report on travel and tourism.

This afternoon Magellan will host a Preferred Suppliers Showcase with some 60 suppliers exhibiting as part of feedback from last year’s conference where both agents and preferred partners wanted “more interaction” according to Macfarlane.
