Helloworld appoints new director

Helloworld Limited has this morning announced the resignation of Adrian John as the director of Helloworld.

Effective immediately, Rob Marcolina has been appointed as the non-executive director of Helloworld, with Marcolina currently holding a position as Qantas Airways’ group executive of strategy, transformation and IT.

He is also a member of Qantas’ Group Management Committee. Adrian John was appointed to the Board on May 26 2011.

In a statement this morning, Helloworld said, “The Board would like to express its thanks to Adrian for his significant contribution over the last four years and welcomes Rob to the Board.”

“Helloworld is going through its own transformation and Rob obviously has a lot of experience in that area, as well as strategy, given his role at Qantas,” Qantas Airways Limited Executive Manager, Corporate Affairs and Communications Andrew McGinnes told Travel Weekly.

Asked if the move was designed to strengthen relationship between Qantas and Helloworld, McGinnes reiterated that the relationship between Qantas and Helloworld is “already strong.”
