Tigerair feeds demand with stacks of new services

Tigerair Australia has announced two additional weekly services between Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

The extra operations arrive just in time for the peak September school holiday period, and are in response to increased demand for more services.

Kicking off sales yesterday, the new Friday and Sunday services commence on September 18 this year, delivering over 700 additional visitor seats each week through Gold Coast Airport.

Tigerair Australia’s commercial director Adam Rowe says the Gold Coast is a year round family favourite destination for the airline, which targets leisure and budget travellers.

“The Gold Coast was our very first destination back in 2007 and it continues to grow in popularity, particularly over winter months as many Melbournians escape the cold,” Rowe said.

“As a volume based business, Tigerair flies where demand dictates in order to build a sustainable business in the Australian domestic market and pass on consistently great value fares to our customers.”

Tigerair currently flies three return services between Melbourne and the Gold Coast daily. With the new services Tigerair will be flying up to four daily return services each way.

Tigerair also recently increased services on the popular Sydney – Gold Coast route from two to up to four daily return services.

And the demand just keeps on comin’, with Tigerair also announcing additional flights from Sydney to Whitsunday Coast Airport.

The new Sunday services went on sale yesterday, for travel commencing October 25 2015.

“We are now introducing Sunday flights permanently into the new season schedule which commences from 25 October 2015, providing nearly 19,000 additional visitor seats annually through Whitsunday Coast Airport,” Rowe added.
