Jacqui Timmins departs AIME

AIME exhibition director, Jacqui Timmins, has resigned from Reed Exhibitions leaving the programme without a replacement as yet.

Timmins told Travel Weekly she resigned in January this year but remained “committed to seeing AIME 2015 through”, and officially left her post on April 24.

She was appointed exhibition director in 2013 and oversaw proceedings for the 2014 and 2015 Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) annual show held in February each year in Melbourne, as well as China’s CIBTM each August.

Jacqui Timmins headshotTimmins said while she enjoyed her role, she left her post at Reed Exhibitions “after an intense two years” overseeing both the Australian and China events.

An AIME  representative told Travel Weekly “a search for her replacement is already underway and details will be made official as soon as someone is appointed”.

AIME is the largest international business event in Australia with over 700 exhibitors from 5 continents and following this year’s show some exhibitors and delegates reportedly told media, changes to the show’s format, such as the cancellation of the popular welcome reception, impacted the overall experience.

“The AIME team are very much focussed on business as usual. Specifically, we are currently developing the 2016 strategy, in response to post show feedback and in consultation with a wide group of stakeholders, via customer roadshows, an AIME customer advisory board and a number of focus groups,” AIME said.

AIME will return to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on February 23-24 2016.

Prior to joining AIME, Timmins headed up Travelscene American Express and also had a long tenure at Qantas.
