Air NZ brings Argentina closer to Aussies

Air New Zealand has packed its suitcases and taken off to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

And to celebrate, the airline is offering special one-stop fares from seven Aussie ports, priced from just $1599 return.

When the airline launches its new Auckland-Buenos Aires service on December 1 this year, it will be the most convenient way for many Aussies to jet over to the Argentinean capital.

The schedule is timed to allow Aussie travellers to make easy connections across the Tasman to join Air NZ’s early evening departure direct to Buenos Aires, which boasts a flight time of less than 12 hours.

The return leg from Buenos Aires will have an early morning arrival time in Auckland enabling Australian travellers to hop back on a plane across the ditch and back down under.

Air NZ will operate three non-stop return services from Auckland to Buenos Aires each week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using its newly refurbished Boeing 777-200 aircraft with fancy lie flat Business Premier beds, comfortable new Premium Economy seats and the airline’s Economy Skycouch.

Air New Zealand’s chief sales and commercial officer Cam Wallace said the company was excited to make Argentina and South America more accessible.

“We’re effectively closing the gap with a one-stop service from seven major Australian airports that will be more convenient than many of the options currently available,” Wallace said.

Subject to remaining regulatory approvals, Air New Zealand will also offer code share services on Aerolineas Argentinas beyond Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo in Brazil.

Air New Zealand’s one-stop introductory airfares to Buenos Aires from seven Australian airports are on sale now through until March 27 2015.  Visit www.airnewzealand.com.au to book.
