US MegaFam gets outdoors for inaugural trip
By admin

Brand USA, supported by Hawaiian Airlines, has officially announced its inaugural Great Outdoors MegaFam, set to take place from March 15 to 24 2015.

Up to 55 agents from Australia and New Zealand will qualify for one of the coveted spots on the MegaFam, flying to the US with Hawaiian Airlines via Honolulu, before spending eight days traipsing around the US on different itineraries designed to highlight the best of the great outdoors.

The agents will be split into five smaller groups, spending their first six nights exploring their mainland destination, including San Diego and Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco, Portland and Seattle, New York and Washington D.C. and Las Vegas and the surrounding areas.

The entire cohort will regroup in Honolulu for the final two nights, where they will be treated to a grand finale event, sharing MegaFam stories and secrets, before flying home on March 24.

Brand USA’s director for Australia and New Zealand Oliver Philpot said they are thrilled to be hosting the first ever Brand USA-Hawaiian Airlines event.

“Hawaii is such a great stopover to combine with a mainland US trip, and with five different itineraries to offer, the lucky agents will get to experience the diversity of experiences and destinations available in the US,” he said.

Hawaiian Airlines’ head of sales and marketing Andrew Denman said it is a chance to partner with Brand USA and show off its services.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for travel agents and also for our airline to showcase our flights from Australia to Hawaii and to 11 US mainland destinations via Honolulu,” Denman said.

Participants will be selected based on the volume of Hawaiian Airlines sales, excluding Australia, between December 1 2014 and February 8 2015.

Agents must also have completed the regional expert module of the Discover America online training program to be eligible for a hot seat on the MegaFam train.
