Emirates putts on a good show

Emirates putts on a good show
By admin

From Thursday through to yesterday's climactic final round duel at Royal Sydney Golf Club, Emirates entertained a host of corporate partners in its marquee abutting the green of the 18th hole.

In the end local hero Adam Scott went down fighting by a single stroke to Northern Irish wunderkind Rory McIllroy (pictured), who drained a 10 foot birdie putt to clinch the title. But the full four days saw some scintillating golf played on one of Australia's premier courses.

The Dubai-themed marquee, modelled on the airline's well known Melbourne Cup version, saw several big names passing through, including leading Australian players Stuart Appleby, Geoff Ogilvy and Adam Scott. Inside, guests of Emirates were treated to a buffet selection of cuisine and a generous fridge full of refreshements to augment the golfing experience.

“Emirates has a proud association with the sport of golf not only in Australia but worldwide as the partner of 11 golfing championships," Emirates vice president Australasia Bryan Banston said.

"We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship with this prestigious tournament, first played in 1904, and supporting the growth of golf in Australia."
