Adelaide Airport has welcomed the impending launch of Jetstar flights to Auckland, saying it has been pushing for additional services "for some time".

The carrier yesterday announced it will operate three weekly flights from December.

"For some time we've had the view that there were opportunities to create additional choice on this route so we see the announcement by Jetstar as a great result for Trans-Tasman travellers," Adelaide Airport managing director Mark Young said.

"It creates new opportunities for South Australians heading to New Zealand as well as boosting tourism in South Australia."

Online wholesaler Excite Holidays has named Walter Nand as business development manager for NSW and ACT.

Nand, who has more than 20 years' travel industry experience in the UK, Canada and Australia, will help support "our expanding list of agents within those regions", Excite said.

Singapore Airlines will operate five weekly A380 flights between Singapore and Shanghai from the start of the northern winter season.

The carrier operates a total of 28 weekly flights on the route.

P&O Cruises World Cruising is offering new agent booking incentives for its 2015 world voyages on Aurora and Arcadia which go on sale tomorrow.

The cruise line line is offering a 50% discount off the deposit on cruise of seven nights or more as well as onboard credit of up to 35 GBP per person. P&O said the incentives will make the program easier to market.

Meanwhile, agents who book an allocation of 10 or more passengers will quality for group rates under the Select Sailings Program, including a 5% discount off the launch fare in selected group cabins and up to 50 GBP onboard credit.

A booking of 16 or more allows agents to earn a bonus FOC berth which can be passed onto a passenger or used for a group escort, bonus commission or towards future sales and marketing initiative.
