Uniworld notches up a record year

Australia has become the number two market for Uniworld as the river cruise operator reported 2013 as a record year for local sales.

General manager John Molinaro told media at the launch of its Europe and Russia brochure, that strong Australian growth for its 2013 program had seen the market come second only to North America.

“We are now very seriously in the game,” he said. “So watch this space.”

In 2014, it will add new vessel, the SS Catherine to its fleet with the 135 metre long vessel to operate its itinerary in the south of France.

It is the cruise line’s first new ship since the launch of its sister ship, the SS Antoinette, in 2011.

“We don’t bring out a lot of ships at one time,” Molinaro said. “So when we bring a new ship out, it's something special.”

The year will see the launch of its new Bordeaux itinerary with the firm to also focus on promoting its offer of “six star service” encompassing its expertise, service, choice, “unique” design, culinary options and its all-inclusive proposition, according to Molinaro.
