The lair of the cougar

When it comes to getting away for some rest and relaxation, cougarlife.com's members invariably head for coastal climes, where sun, sand and er, sex are all distinct possibilities.

According to 1909 polled respondents of the website, which claims to be "the largest dating site of it's kind designed specifically to connect vibrant, successful and sexy older women with the younger men who can keep up with them", their top choice for a getaway was secluded Lizard island off the coast of tropical north Quensland. Some 21.6% of respondents, in fact, opted for this destination.

Rounding out the top three were Crown Metropol Perth, with 17.5% of respondents in favour and the appropriately named Blanket Bay, near Queenstown, New Zealand, which won approval from 16.7% of cougars. Within Australia, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay and Qualia Resort in the Whitsundays were also on the hit list.

And in a sign of just how predatory this demographic of raunchy females can be, some 77.9% said they planned to "hook up" on site, while 56.5% of respondents said they would even prey on hotel staff members at their property of choice. It seems no one is safe when these girls are in town.

"Many cougars, like myself, prefer an active vacation that includes tennis, golf, hiking, and skiing. And the fun doesn’t stop once the courses close for the night… most cougars are looking to hook up with a hot younger man and burn their calories the old fashioned way," said cougarlife spokesperson Marlo Jordan.
