JTG appoints marketing chief amid ongoing review
By admin

Jetset Travelworld has recruited former Tourism Australia executive Kim Portrate to head up its marketing operations.

The appointment comes as JTG continues to review its business with a shake-up of its retail brands at the heart of its “transformation”.

Portrate, who will become chief marketing officer, spent the last five years heading Tourism Australia’s consumer marketing team in global strategy, program development and consumer marketing across 17 markets.

JTG chief executive Rob Gurney said: “Kim comes to us with an extensive strategic planning background, stakeholder management and travel industry experience.

“This will be leveraged to direct and manage JTG’s marketing presence which will make a real impact in the industry.

“A key component of our business transformation is to build consumer insights and add capabilities in terms of the development and execution of our marketing strategy. Kim has a wealth of experience in both of these areas and I am pleased that she is joining our team.”

Prior to joining Tourism Australia, Portrate was director of insight and innovation at Carat Media Services Australia.

She was also senior vice president group planning direct at BBDO Worldwide and senior vice president of planning at D’Arcy Worldwide Inc.
