Qantas unveils new uniform

Qantas unveils new uniform
By admin

Qantas has revealed their first uniform change in ten years which will be worn by employees from early next year.

With a colour palette of red, pink and navy blue the new outfit is designed by Martin Grant and was launched on a runway-style catwalk in Sydney by model Miranda Kerr.

"This is a new look for a new chapter for Qantas, the new uniform speaks of Australian style on the global stage,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said.

The design was developed in consultation with Qantas employees and the brief was for a unique, functional and durable uniform.

“The end result is a stylish and comfortable collection that will help our people feel their best no matter where they are in the world,” Joyce said.

Female staff will have a dress, top, suit, trench overcoat, scarf and trilby hat made from recycled bottle tops to wear. The male uniform emphasises tailoring.

“My inspiration for the uniform came from Qantas’ striking logo – the powerful red triangle and the flying kangaroo,” designer Martin Grant said.

Accents of red are seen throughout the collection – in the lining of a dark trench coat as well as the hat which features a section of red trim.

“I wanted to create a uniform that reflected the glamour of flying and something that would suit every body shape,” Grant added.
