The adorable (and appropriate) name given to baby born on American Airlines jetway

An American Airways flight landed with an extra passenger on Wednesday, but this little traveller was no stowaway.

Well… Not technically.

A woman gave birth to a baby girl on the jetway after the plane landed in Charlotte, North Carolina after travelling from Tampa, Florida, according to USA Today.

The unusual birthplace prompted the mother, Nereida Araujo, to give her daughter a rather fitting name: Lizyana Sky Taylor.

Araujo posted to Facebook thanking American Airlines and the pilot for landing her and her baby safely in Charlotte.

“Also S/O To All The People With Negative Comments Hope Y’all All Had A Lovely Thanksgiving. Grandma Shirley Fisher We Coming & You Will Get To Meet Baby Sky,” she said.

Araujo was travelling to Pennsylvania to spend Thanksgiving with her grandmother and has since posted a GoFundMe asking for donations so she can continue her trip by rental car as doctors advised her against flying with baby Sky as she is only a few days old.

The new mother also posted to Facebook to thank American Airlines’ customer relations team for sending her a gift for Sky.

An American Airlines spokeswoman told USA Today that paramedics and the Charlotte Fire Department assisted in the delivery of a healthy baby girl at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport on the jetway.

“We are happy (and thankful of course!!) to be a part of this family’s story,” the spokeswoman said.
