Prepare to get active with Utah

Key trade partners and media in Australian and New Zealand better start warming up, as the Utah Office of Tourism is heading Downunder in August and September to showcase their active lifestyle.

The visit will feature a series of hosted events, as well as a consumer activation initiative Climb Your Way to Utah, which will see a nine-metre-high climbing wall constructed at Druitt Landing in the Darling Harbour precinct.

Here to share their many outdoor attractions will be key staff from the Utah Office of Tourism, Visit Park City, Ski Utah, Zion National Park & St George region and Bryce Canyon Country.

The group will visit key travel trade and media in Auckland on 29 Aug, Melbourne on 31 Aug and Sydney on 1 Sept.  The consumer activation event Climb Your Way to Utah will take place Friday, Sep 2nd and Saturday, Sep 3rd between 11am and 5pm at Druitt Landing in the Darling Harbour precinct.

“Utah is such an active state thriving on healthy outdoor living and we wanted to give Australia a taste of our passion for the outdoors,” said Becky Johnson, Utah Office of Tourism.

“Our consumer activation event in Darling Harbour is open to the general public as well as our key industry partners including travel agents, tour operators, airlines and media all wanting to learn more about Utah,” Johnson said.

Visitors interested to try their hand on the climbing wall and share their experiences on social media will have a chance to win spot prizes and go in the draw to win a gift card for $8200 from Expedia to book the trip of their choice to Utah.

Hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, skiing and general outdoor exploring through Utah’s five national parks, 14 ski resorts, seven national monuments, five national forests and 43 state parks are a daily occurrence for locals in Utah, with the state covering 22.8 million acres of public lands, representing almost 42 percent of land mass.

Here is just a taste of what will be showcased.
