VA’s Economy Space+ has landed

As of today, Virgin Australia’s new product Economy Space+ has landed, providing a more seamless and comfortable experience for guests travelling in the main cabin on all Domestic and International services.

The airline announced back in May that they will be introducing the new cabin offering,  selling Economy Space+ prices from $10 one way for domestic and short haul international flights, and $50 one way for long haul international flights.

Domestic travellers who book on an Economy Space+ ticket can enjoy Priority Boarding1, at least 25 percent more legroom and preferred overhead lockers, while travellers on Short Haul International flights also include access to dedicated check-in facilities (where available).

For those travelling a little further on the Boeing 777-300ER flights from Australia to Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi, you can expect:

  • Dedicated check-in;
  • Priority Boarding2;
  • 25 percent more legroom than the main Economy cabin;
  • Preferred Overhead Lockers;
  • Premium Noise Cancelling Headset; and
  • Guaranteed first meal choice.

The Economy Space+ seats replace the previous ‘Extra Legroom’ across the entire Virgin Australia network.

Virgin Australia chief commercial officer Judith Crompton said the airline remains committed to providing guests with more choice and comfort when flying with Virgin Australia.

“We believe Economy Space+ provides great value and will be very popular with travellers in the main cabin,” Crompton said.

Economy Space+ is located in the Exit Rows of our Airbus A330-200, Boeing 737-800, Embraer E190, and Fokker 100 fleets and Row 1 on our ATR-72 aircraft. On the Boeing 777-300ER it is located in the first section of the main cabin (five rows behind Premium Economy) as well as the Exit Rows.

It can be purchased when selecting your seat through virginaustralia.com or through a travel agent.
