Intrepid records biggest sales day in 33-year history

Intrepid Travel has recorded its biggest global sales day in its 33-year history.

The bumper day on Tuesday (22 November) happened during Intrepid’s annual Cyber Sale, offering travellers savings of up to 25 per cent on selected small-group adventures.

Top-selling Cyber Sale destinations booked by Australians so far are Vietnam, Morocco, and Egypt, with Premium trips also performing strongly.

Brett Mitchell, Intrepid’s regional managing director, said the results speak for themselves – travel is back for good.

“We’re seeing huge demand for sustainable, experience-rich travel, as consumers become more aware of the impacts of their travels on the people and places they visit,” he said.

Our partners and agents have played a pivotal role in achieving these results and we’re committed to providing them with the support, knowledge and tools to continue to deliver our small group adventures to Aussie customers.”

The record day comes as the business continues to grow its ANZ team, as it targets further growth from this market.

Karen Shepherd has returned to Intrepid as general manager of sales and customer service. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Shepherd joined Peregrine back in 2006 as national sales manager. She later moved to the UK as sales and operations manager across both Peregrine and Geckos, before leading the industry sales and customer service team in 2013.

Intrepid has also expanded its ANZ sales team, with more than 10 new adventure specialists joining since October.
