Home working group, Mobile Travel Agents, will stage a series of member updates across Australia next month as management prepare to roll out a new fee structure for its consultants.

Meetings will kick off in Brisbane on December 2 before moving to Sydney on the 4th, Melbourne on the 9th, Adelaide on the 10th and concluding in Perth on December 13.

Along with the new fee model for agents, the updates will also discuss the group's new technology, the voluntary accreditation scheme being drawn up by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents and the impact Helloworld could have on the retail sector.

"These regional meetings give the MTA members an opportunity to address any issues directly with senior management on a face to face basis," MTA joint managing director Roy Merricks said.

Intrepid has been forced to cancel or delay trips to Halong Bay as cyclone Haiyan approaches Vietnam.

Authorities were refusing to allow boats to enter or leave the port, according to the adventure operator, although that could be lifted later or tomorrow.

While Intrepid has not cancelled any tours to Vietnam, itineraries have changed with each tour assessed on a group-by-group basis.

"We've also got personal mobile numbers for each of the tour leaders currently with a group so we are able to get in touch with them immediately should there be any concerned relatives or friends that want to make contact with thier loved ones," a spokeswoman said.
