Etihad Airways will ramp up its Indian presence with plans to more than triple the number of seats on its Abu Dhabi-Mumbai and Abu Dhabi-New Delhi routes from November 1.

 

Virgin Australia co-founders Rob Sherrard and Brett Godfrey have acquired the Tasmanian Walking Company, which operates the Bay of Fires Lodge and Cradle Mountain Huts Walks.

The same team will remain in place with no changes in the way the walks are run or managed.

 

The International Air Transport Association has “high expectations” for the decisions to be made at the 38th Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), with climate change expected to be a key issue.

 

England Rugby 2015 has declared that it is “on track” to deliver the Rugby World Cup in 2015, with 50 staff now appointed to the organising committee.

That number is expected to rise to 70 by the end of the year.

 

Travel trade show ITB Asia will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore for three years starting from 2014 under a new strategic partnership. 

 

Hertz will extend its short-term car rental service to the Gold Coast from September 18 following its successful introduction.

The Sydney fleet has grown by 240% since the service was launched there in November.
