Record profit for Travellers Choice

Record profit for Travellers Choice
By admin

Travellers Choice has lifted pre-tax operating profits by 68% to $1.22 million, a record result for the retailer.

Chief executive Christian Hunter, pictured, said the 2012/13 performance demonstrated that agents are continuing to back preferred suppliers.

He described the result as “outstanding”, with 98% of the profit returned directly to agents.

All members will receive a 6.6% – 33 cents per share – unfranked dividend with the majority of the remaining profit distributed through trading rebates based on the level of support for airlines and wholesaler partners.

“This year’s result shows once again that our members fully understand the importance of supporting a strong portfolio of preferred suppliers and maximising the value that sits within each commercial agreement,” Hunter said.

“By working independently to a collective goal and effectively utilising the broad suite of marketing tools offered as part of the membership, they have delivered an outstanding result.

“As the company’s sole shareholders, all Travellers Choice members will now share the rewards.”

He added that the result reflects the “strong financial management and strategic focus” of the network.
