In order to celebrate one year since SilverNeedle Hospitality launched its SD private label chain code for global distribution system (GDS) bookings, the hotel firm has launch a new incentive with a three-night hotel stay up for grabs.

The stay, to be redeemed at any of SilverNeedle’s participating hotels, will be awarded to the highest booker using the code with the competition due to end on December 20.

In addition, all travel bookers will stand a further chance to win a three-night stay at any participating hotel in a prize draw and will receive 15% commission when they book the SD daily rate through the GDS.

"Since launching our private label GDS code a year ago, SilverNeedle Hospitality has become more connected to travel professionals, executive vie president hotel management Andrew Turner said. “Our business volume originating from this important distribution channel has also grown substantially and as such, we would like to express our appreciation to our travel partners with this celebratory offer.”

 

A record 207,000 international passenger passed through Adelaide Airport in the September quarter, up more than 26% on the same period last year, new figures have shown.

Domestic numbers climbed 3.6% to 1.54 million but regional traffic was down 7.5% to 145,000 as a result of weak economic conditions and a reduction in mining volumes.

Adelaide Airport managing director, Mark Young, said increasing numbers of carriers are seeing potential in South Australia.

 

A new deal will see members of Etihad’s frequent flyer program earn 500 miles for eligible stays at any of Preferred Hotel Group’s 650 member hotels in 85 countries.

In addition, Etihad Guest members can earn 1000 miles at more than 120 participating hotels worldwide when they present their card at time of hotel check-in.

The hotel group has 149 properties located in 43 cities served by the airline.

Etihad Guest is the 17th airline loyalty program to join Preferred Hotel Group’s Frequent Flyer program list.

Consultants must book by close of business tomorrow and enter the special promotion code of 5ktrip. Each booking generates one entry to the prize draw.

 

Wholesaler GTA has signed a deal with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East & Africa to distribute its properties through its wholesale and retail HTML and XML systems to its global network of more than 2,300 professionals worldwide.

GTA reported a 25% increase in the number of room nights booked in the Middle East last year with Jordan, Oman, the UAE and Saudi Arabia showing particularly strong growth.

 

International Rail is offering a 20% discount on a range of Eurail passes available for purchase until December 31 for travel until March 31.

The discounted passes include the Global Flexi Pass, the Global Consecutive Pass and the Select Pass and are available in both first and second class.

 

Anantara Hotels Resorts & Spas has opened its 25th property and its first resort in Cambodia – Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa.

The 39-room property is located within a five minute drive from Siem Reap International Airport, Anantara Angkor Resort & Spa can also be reached by land from Thailand, Laos or Vietnam as well as via the Mekong River. 

 

Far East Hospitality has opened its Peranakan-inspired Village Hotel Katong in Singapore.

The 229-room hotel is the latest addition to the hospitality firm’s growing portfolio of hotels and serviced residences, and reflects the strong Peranakan heritage of the surrounding Katong and Joo Chiat district.
