Travel Counsellors Australia has confirmed Melbourne as the location for its 2014 annual conference.

The independent travel company reported a record level of interest in the event from its agent, even before the location was announced.

A “very large” proportion of TC agents have also registered to attend its series of state conferences, being held in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in September. 

 

The Mantra Group, one of Australia's largest hotel companies, has joined Tourism Accommodation Australia with Mantra chief executive, Bob East, to join its board September 1.

The new addition takes the accommodation industry advocacy group's tally to 24 of Australia's major accommodation chains, with more than 800 members across a wide range of sectors.

 

Mount Lofty House in South Australia's Adelaide Hills wine region has become the seventh Australian boutique hotel to join Accor's MGallery portfolio.

 

Agents enrolled in Aston Hotels & Resorts’ STARs online travel agent incentive program can earn up to US$50 cash back for each new booking of five consecutive nights or more at a single eligible property.

Amadeus has partnered with accommodation aggregator the Lido Group to offer Amadeus-connected travel agents access to a range of regional Australian accommodation content for the first time.

Under the deal, 51 new properties in locations such as Toowoomba in Queensland and Port Lincoln in South Australia is now available with a further 40 plus properties from the Golden Chain Motel and Mainstay Hotel brands in New Zealand to be added over coming months.
