Bonza connects North Queensland and Melbourne with new direct routes
Bonza will launch its newest route today, connecting Melbourne (Tullamarine) and Toowoomba with a direct flight.
The new route will operate four times a week -Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday – with fares starting from $79.
“Connecting more Australians to new destinations is what Bonza is all about,” CEO, Bonza, Tim Jordan, said.
“Today, we give the people of Melbourne and Toowoomba new reasons to explore their own backyard.”
“Toowoomba is a bustling inland city famed for its hundreds of picturesque parks, gardens and annual Flower Festival. With a direct low-cost flight to Melbourne, Toowoomba locals can catch more of their favourite sporting events, cultural shows or indulge in the cuisine capital.”
Toowoomba Wellcamp airport is also set to receive two more routes this week with the addition of flights to Townsville and Whitsunday Coast Airport kicking off at $69 and $59 respectively.
“Bonza’s Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport route will be in demand for travellers wanting to see more of what the Darling Downs and Granite Belt have to offer,” chairman, Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, John Wagner, said.
“The direct connections to North Queensland and Victoria will allow residents direct travel for business, leisure, study and visiting family and friends. Inbound visitors can also see our beautiful region and experience our impressive tourism industry, injecting millions into our economy and creating additional jobs. We strongly encourage the community to take advantage of these fantastic new flights to visit loved ones and explore the Downs.”
“Both Melbourne and Toowoomba are known for their gardens and street art, so a low-cost connection between our two cities feels like a natural fit,” chief of aviation, Melbourne Airport, Jim Parashos, said.
“As Australia’s capital of culture, food and sport, Melbourne has so much to offer visitors from Queensland, but we know Victorians are just as keen to explore other parts of the country and this will help open up Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and Queensland’s south-west.”
Travellers are encouraged to download the Fly Bonza app which is the only place to book direct.
