Garuda Indonesia is bringing back direct Melb-Bali flights

Complementing the recent announcement of resuming its Melbourne – Jakarta flights, Garuda Indonesia will be re-commencing direct Melbourne – Denpasar services from 10 December 2022.

Initially starting with one flight a week, GA719 will depart every Saturday at 09:10hrs from Melbourne and arrive that afternoon in Denpasar at 12:05hrs.

The return flight GA718 will depart Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport every Friday evening at 23:00hrs, arriving into Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 07:35hrs, the next morning.

Garuda Indonesia’s Melbourne-Jakarta route has been resumed to accommodate the market demand for international corporate and leisure travel, particularly in Australia following its decision to relax the travel restrictions.

Garuda Indonesia will operate the twice-weekly service using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 251 passengers, consisting of 36 business class and 215 economy class seats.

Garuda Indonesia’s president & CEO, Irfan Setiaputra said: “The re-opening of the Melbourne service is one of Garuda Indonesia’s efforts to optimise the momentum of the national economic recovery, especially through the tourism sector.

“Positioning Jakarta as the hub, the route is not only accommodating the demand of more diverse connectivity throughout the archipelago but also providing seamless connections to other popular Indonesian destinations such as Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Lombok, Kualanamu and Surabaya.”
