A beautifully restored 19th-century guesthouse has just opened its doors in the Southern Highlands if you’re keen to live out your Bridgeton fantasies.

Situated between Bundanoon village and Morton National Park, Osborn House is a collection of 22 suites set on a heritage property dating back to 1892, just two hours from Sydney and Canberra.

It took two years of searching for founding director Adam Abrams to find the perfect spot to establish the boutique hotel, and a further five years to bring it to life, but now it’s finished, we’re sure Abrams agrees it was well worth the wait.

The original home has been transformed into 15 suites and seven luxury cabins that all enjoy views of the dense forestry and undulating hills that border the property.

From quirky design elements to varying outlooks, the diversity of each suite and cabin promises to offer a completely different and unique experience to returning guests.

Wellness facilities include a 25m lap pool with a retractable roof that exposes soothing views of the leafy surrounds, an ultra-luxe spa with four treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, and cool plunge, as well as a fully equipped gym.

A kitchen garden has been established in Osborn House’s century-old gardens, and a cooking school will be added in 2022.

General manager, Adrian Levy, said guests will enjoy two premium dining and drinking experiences, with Dinah’s restaurant and George’s bar both offering indoor and outdoor terrace spaces with views over Morton National Park.

“At Osborn House, we take our guests on a magical journey that imparts new experiences, ideas and memories. Osborn House really does manifest its own time and place in the world, making it a truly special offering in Australia,” Levy said.

The food offering at Osborn House will be led by executive chef Segundo Farrell, who has spent a considerable amount of time learning the art of fire cooking with Latin American food legend, Francis Mallmann.

His approach champions the regional produce which abounds in the Southern Highlands to create a generous and seasonally led menu.

Australian artist, Jai Vasicek, has been commissioned by Osborn House to create paintings that adorn the walls and corridors throughout the property. Vasicek will also be the first artist in residence at Osborn House, with more to be announced later this year.
