Globus family of brands (GFOB) is venturing into a new market with the appointment of Joyce Weir as its national business development manager for MICE.

Weir will be responsible for overseeing and driving the growth of GFOB’s MICE business within the Australian market.

She has more than 20 years’ experience in the tourism industry and has been responsible for developing the groups and incentives market for travel companies such as Qantas and Hawaiian Airlines.

Starting her career in public relations, Weir is a well-known face in the industry with extensive experience across account management, business development, revenue analysis, customer service and training.

Gai Tyrrell, managing director for Australasia at GFOB, said: “We are delighted to welcome Joyce to the Globus family of brands to lead our MICE efforts in Australia.

“Joyce’s experience and expertise in this market will be integral over the next year as we build our MICE offerings within the industry and work with our clients to build exclusive, tailored programs across our portfolio.”
