Two leadership hires announced for Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets ahead of March opening

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced two appointments at Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets ahead of its scheduled opening next month.

The property will be the first Hotel Indigo to open in Australia, joining the boutique collective of 126 hotels across the globe.

Thomas Zinn (pictured above) has been appointed to the role of general manager at Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets.

Zinn has over two decades of senior leadership experience across the tourism and hospitality industry, and nearly 10 of those years have been with IHG.

Thomas is joined by Gabriele Pezzimenti, who has been appointed as chef de cuisine.

Pezzimenti was born in Bergamo where, at the age of 15, he started an apprenticeship at the three-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio. His career has seen him work in the US, Spain and Dubai, before he settled in Australia in 2019.

Pezzimenti will take inspiration from the hotel’s location – adjacent to the renowned Adelaide Market and the abundance of local produce and high-quality wines and spirits produced in South Australia – as he develops the culinary offerings for its two venues – the Australian Market & Meander Eatery and Bar, and rooftop raw food bar Merrymaker.

Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will have 145 guest rooms, all with design touches that tell the neighbourhood story and reflect both the important heritage of the city as well as its thriving contemporary arts scene.
