Tourist discovers missing passport in Ibiza club photos

A British tourist who was left stranded in Ibiza after losing her passport was shocked to find it pop up in photos from a big night out.

Bobbie Cook was enjoying a five-day party trip to the Spanish island when she noticed her passport was missing on the second night, according to News.com.au.

The 21-year-old from Essex spent a frenzied night searching the club where she and her friends had been attending a music event but turned up nothing.

“I kept retracing my steps and checking the toilets, lost property, asking behind the bar and looking around that exact spot where we was taking photos, and I couldn’t find it at all,” Cook told News.com.au.

“Becca [her friend] kept telling me it’s probably back at the hotel so there’s no point in worrying but all I could think about was how was I supposed to get home. I leave in four days.”

Cook was forced to apply for an emergency passport, but had to wait another four days as the document could not be processed over the weekend, causing her to miss her return flight.

She ran into more bad luck when she was unable to board her replacement flight due to a “payment issue” and had to wait until Friday to return home.

Cook said she was scared and didn’t know how she was going to manage on her own.

“Becca wanted to stay with me but she couldn’t because it was vital she went home for work as she had too much time off already,” she said.

“Luckily, one of my others friends I knew from back home said she would stay out there with me — she was already in Ibiza as well — which was a huge weight lifted from my shoulders, at least I knew she was gonna help me. I would have been useless on my own.”

It wasn’t until the last night in Ibiza that Cook noticed something shocking as she looked through her holiday photos: her missing passport, right in front of her on the club floor.

Cook said all she could do when she saw the photo was laugh.

“I was sending it to all my friends, posting it on my stories and everyone found it hilarious. I just don’t know how I didn’t open my eyes.”
