The entire Insight Vacations team along with John Veitch, TTC CEO, Lorraine Sharp Insight Vacations MD and Karen Deveson, Head of Marketing – were all in attendance for the reforestation activity in TTC’s local community, Trumper Park in Paddington.

Under the partnership, a tree will be planted in Tasmania for every guest who chooses to receive e-docs instead of paper documents.

The partnership, which officially began in 2018, has been planting trees on behalf of guests in Northern California or Vietnam and will now be planted locally, allowing Australian travellers to make a positive environmental impact in their own country.

“We’re very excited to partner with One Tree Planted, whose principles and values align with ours in terms of sharing our passion for sustaining the planet and its environment, something we as Australians are very much at the forefront of,” Lorraine Sharp, Managing Director of Insight Vacations said.

“We look forward to our travel agents sharing this news with their clients, as I’m sure they’ll love having a tree planted in their name, in their own backyard.”

Tasmania is Australia’s last refuge for some of the nation’s most endangered animals – species that are on the brink of extinction including the Tasmanian Devil, Eastern Bettong, Eastern Quoll and Eastern Barred Bandicoot.

Together with Insight Vacations, One Tree Planted will work throughout the state to relink and restore habitats across the Tasmanian midlands for the critically endangered animals, while also helping to revitalise local farming opportunities.

“Our goal for 2019 is to restore 10 hectares of threatened species habitat in Tasmania and ensure the future sustainability of some of Australia’s most unique mammals and birds,” said Matt Hill, Chief Environmental Evangelist of One Tree Planted.

Over 20 tree species will be planted in Tasmania, including Eucalyptus ovata, Eucalyptus rodwayii, Eucalyptus pauciflora, Lepto lanigerum, Acacia dealbata and Acacia verticilata to name a few.
