This time we talk to Excite Holidays Head of HR Ashleigh Carr.

Work hard, play hard

I love helping people develop their careers.

There are wonderful benefits of this industry, such as taking your career worldwide, vast development programs, the ability to be fast tracked into management positions and, of course, the incredible travel benefits.

There’s mounting support for gender equality

All the companies I’ve been a part of have been highly focused on ensuring equal opportunities for women, including gender parity.

I’ve seen a larger focus on training programs, support, and flexible work arrangements for returning females to the workforce, and we are starting to see the gap decrease.

Embrace individual talent

Everyone’s leadership style is different.

We empower our female managers to discover and thrive with their natural leadership style.

Some positions have traditionally been more male dominated, like IT and hotel general managers, however we’re starting to see a shift in this representation, as females are encouraged to explore these options.

Travel Weekly is proud to present the Women in Travel Awards held on 27 November at Doltone House Darling Island.

The awards night will be a gala cocktail party where we will also be announcing Travel Weekly’s Power List – recognising the 30 most influential women in the Australia travelscape.

More than just recognition, the Awards provide an opportunity for new business opportunities and network expansion, as well as a chance to learn from some of the most empowering and inspiring women in your industry.

Come along, gush over winners and finalists, and mingle with the industry’s best.
