Best outdoor holidays for families with kids

Remember the days when kids’ play time meant getting outdoors? Well, it’s time to bring that back these school holidays.

The Australian Institute of Family Studies has been tracking 4,000 children since 2004, as part of the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC).

It shows that children aged between four and five years are spending around 2.2 hours each weekday watching screens. That number grows to 3.3 hours by the time they are 12 and 13 and the numbers increase on the weekend.

These school holidays, give the kids a digital detox with a trip to a Discovery Park. The holiday parks are located  across the country, and are bubbling with energy and happy families during the School Holidays.

These guys have carefully created programs this winter to make sure your kids are made busy, active and entertained.

From country-themed shindigs to crazy crafts, find out the top school holiday activities from each state.
