Website allows anyone to become a Travel Agent

You are a travel agent, Tom waiting at the bus stop is a travel agent, everyone is a travel agent, according to website TRVL.com.

“Anyone can be a trvl agent really, anyone, as long as you are 18 years or older. Signing up only takes a few seconds and it is really easy to get started,” the website states.

TRVL.com  is a traveller-to-traveller platform that allows any Tom, Dick or Harry to sign up for free and start selling travel to their friends and family, other travellers and even go corporate bookings to earn a commission up to 10%.

TRVL was created by Jochem Wijnands, co-founder of the digital publishing software PRSS that was acquired by Apple in 2014. It is currently in private beta and gradually opening up to the thousands of people all over the world that are waiting to get access.

“We are complementing your personal recommendations with a handpicked selection of special hotels and popular activities based on our wow-factor. You will hit the ground running,” the company claims.

By aggregating the best travel suppliers (flights, hotels, activities, transportation) in one platform to makes it easy to create a trip, a TRVL Travel Agent can make tailor made trips while TRVL’s collaboration technology facilitates instant feedback, curating a trip in real time.

There is no need to handle any money, as your clients will pay direct, and once travel is completed, a “lion’s share of the commission” is passed on to the TRVL agent. This is all trackable through a financial dashboard.

However, TRVL claims it is not all about earning the money, but also about “trust” and helping other travellers “with your personal recommendations and travel expertise” with the “goal to empower travellers to help each other”.

What do you think about empowering just anyone to become a travel agent?
