Five ways to live it up in the richest city in the world

Five ways to live it up in the richest city in the world
By admin

Perhaps you’ve been to some of the world’s most glamorous destinations, lived it up like a movie star in the lap of luxury.

But until you’ve experienced what Zurich has to offer, you haven’t ticked everything off your list. For example, as the richest city in the world, it’s got some mind-blowing experiences that can easily rival some of the best in the world.

Premium travellers are also well catered for by the airlines that serve the city.

For example, Qatar Airways‘ business class features a luxurious 180º flat bed with built-in back massage function,  a 17’’ TV screen with fully interactive in-flight entertainment system, his and hers Giorgio Armani amenity kits and sleep suits, along with on-demand dining. Fly Qatar Airways to Zurich from $1,450* in Economy Class and $6,510* in Business Class.

You’ll arrive in Zurich looking suitably fresh, ready to discover the city’s luxury charms.

Surprised? You will be.

Check out these ways to live the high life in Zurich

1. Quaff champagne and nibble on oysters and caviar at the Rive Gauche Bar at the Baur au Lac hotel, overlooking the serene waters of Lake Zurich. For something more substantial, opt for the Pavillon restaurant – a glass gazebo with a 16 foot high rotunda and sparkling 1920s chandeliers.

2. Fancy a splurge? Then head for the main shopping street Bahnhofstrasse where you can flex your plastic in some of the most expensive and exclusive stores in the world. Here you’ll find high-end brands galore from Chanel to Prada, along with a few Swiss brands for good measure. Take a break from the crowds by sipping a coffee in one of the number of chic cafes.

3. Relax in the spa at the decadent Dolder Grand Hotel which dates back to 1899. Here the “medical wellness team” will ensure you are well and truly pampered. Then head for dinner at its two Michelin-starred restaurant. The summer terrace will serve up breathtaking views of the city and its scenic surrounds – the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

4. Hit the road in a gleaming sportscar and you drive those hot wheels all around the beautiful Lake Zurich or up into the mountains that surround the city. A Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Maserati or an Aston Martin perhaps – whichever you pick, it’s probably the most extravagant way to see the city, and have an unforgettable driving experience, all at the same time.

5. Spend a night in the Hublot 107 Suite at the Hotel Atlantis by Giardino for a taste of luxury dreamed up by the Swiss luxury watch brand or simply hang out in its ultra hip bar (pictured). Brand design meets hotel design in this unusual suite in this hotel nestled at the foot of the Üetliberg, the mountain that forms the city’s unique backdrop.
