Brisbane-bound flyers turned back to LAX

????????????????????????????????????

A flight bound for Brisbane has had to turn around mid-air after a crack was discovered in the plane’s windscreen.

Passengers had only been in the air for about half an hour when they were told they were heading back to Los Angeles.

“Virgin Australia flight VA8 from Los Angeles to Brisbane has landed safely in Los Angeles without incident this evening after the flight conducted an air return as a precautionary measure following detection of a minor crack in the aircraft’s windscreen,” a Virgin Australia spokeswoman told AAP.

“Engineers are working to rectify the issue and we are doing everything we can to get passengers on their way as quickly as possible.”

The flight is now scheduled to depart Los Angeles at around 5pm local time on Wednesday, or around 10am (AEST).
