Biljana Savic

The Mid-Week Interview with Biljana Savic, the first female Officer on Air Serbia’s Airbus fleet.

The challenge for the industry is… To be the safest airline in the region with a high level of service that would satisfy every passenger’s needs. Therefore, being the leading airline in the region.

The things I like about my job… The great feeling I get when I wake up in the morning and put my uniform on to go on a flight. Where I get to work with so many people from so many different cultures. I get to travel and meet new people, try new foods and see amazing cities all around the world.

And my frustrations are… I get to eat the same food every day at work.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be… Either a Captain on a cruise ship or an architect.

My proudest moment was… When I achieved some of my long lived dreams. Ones that I worked hard for, for many years of my life, even meaning putting other things on hold in life in order to achieve the goals I have posed for myself until now.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… When I tried to hide my report card from my parents when I was in Primary School because I had straight A’s except for that one B.

I try to relax by… Listening to music, going on vacations, going to cafes, playing lots of various sports, going to the beach with friends and spending my free time with my loved ones.

The last time I feared for my life was… Not any time recent that I would remember, as I am not much of a fearful person.

If I can, I always try to avoid… All negative things that can happen.

I really wish I had… My very own plane so I could travel the whole world.

The best advice I’ve ever received was… From my loved ones.

I don’t understand why people… Hurt other people and what they have from doing that.

My greatest weakness is… That I can always waste a whole boiler of hot water, and that there is never enough for my hot baths.

And my greatest strength is… I am an empathetic, objective, non-judgemental individual who cares about the wellbeing of others. I am hard working, responsible, and motivated, with an outgoing, enthusiastic and down to earth nature. I love working in a team environment and possess the ability to work under pressure. I conduct myself in a professional and ethical manner who takes pride in my work.

If I was prime minister I would… Fight for the wellbeing of my people and try to make a better place.

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… The first thing I would do is buy things for people around me to make them happy. Invest money in infrastructure and invest money in making a vaccine to cure many illnesses to cure people.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a… Again ME – but a pilot on the Airbus A380.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Space and back to see the moon, stars and all the planets close by.

My favourite holiday was… When I travelled to the United Arab Emirates.
