italktravel’s three agencies in Newcastle have been quick to take up local sponsorship funding provided by parent Independent Travel Group.

The agencies are supporting the local community with sponsorship of boys and girls AFL teams as well as a representative RAAF AFL team.

Sponsorships are funded by ITG and are designed to align with the exclusive territories taken up by franchisees.

Franchisee Mark van Huisstede said the sponsorship would give the new brand a presence within local junior sport, the local forces and the wider community.

“Already it’s been a lot of fun and generated an amazing amount of comment,” he said.

The italktravel logo will appear on players’ jumpers and in club promotional material and communication

ITG chief executive Tom Manwaring welcomed the sponsorships, which are the first for italktravel.

“We are very pleased to see local action in our brand build within the exclusive territory ownership of our italktravel franchisees,” he said. “They have kicked a goal here with the AFL girls/boys and Australian Air Force!”
