Midweek Interview with Brad Mercer, General Manager, Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane
By admin

The challenge for the industry is… Never getting comfortable and sticking to what you know, striving to be a leader, game changer and always looking ahead.

The things I like about my job are… In our game, everyday is different. Keep things exciting and challenging.

And the frustrations… You can’t control everything.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be a… Doctor.

Qantas or Virgin? Qantas, I still call Australia home.

My proudest moment was… Being appointed general manager of the Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… This, I just can’t say…

I try to relax by… Glass of fine Sauvignon Blanc.

The last time I feared for my life… Never feared – I always had faith.

If I can, I always try to avoid… Speeding.

I really wish I had… A few more hours each day.

The best advice I’ve ever received was… Work with enthusiasm as though you were working for the lord rather than people, Eph 6:7.

I don’t understand why… There is so much unrest in the world, why can’t we all just get along.

My greatest weakness is… Impatience.

And my greatest strength… Drive for results.

If I was prime minister I would… Work to reduce the high tax threshold in Australia.

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… Invest it for my kids’ future.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… Richard Branson.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Europe.

My favourite holiday was… The W Bali in Seminyak, it was amazing.
