Tourism Fiji appoints Australia director

Tourism Fiji has claimed the appointment of an Australia regional director has underlined the importance of the local market.

Carlah Walton will begin the Australia focused role next week and has senior experience in the regional tourism, wholesale, retail, aviation and hospitality industries.

But Paresh Pant, who previously headed up the Australian market, has left, Tourism Fiji confirmed.

"Australia is a significant market for Fiji tourism and we are confident Carlah will assist us in continuing to drive growth and enhancing Fiji's reputation," Tourism Fiji CEO Rick Hamilton said.

Walton expressed her delight with the role and looks forward to sharing Fiji with the travel trade.

"Fiji isn't a place, it's a feeling and it really is where happiness finds you," she said.
