Qantas has taken the honours among domestic airlines for June, leading the way in both on time departures and arrivals.

The carrier reported 85% on time departures, ahead of Virgin Australia with 79.6% and Jetstar with 76.8%. A little under 75% of Tigerair flights left on time.

Regional Express led the regional carriers with an on time arrival figure of 81.4%, while Virgin Australia Regional Airlines recorded 76.5% and QantasLink 75.3%.

Qantas's on time arrival figure for June was 84.6%, ahead of Virgin Australia (78.1%), Jetstar (76.6%) and Tigerair (70.4%).

Regional Express again was the best of the regional carriers, recording a figure of 79.4% of on time arrivals, trumping Virgin Australia Regional Airlines at 73.8% and QantasLink at 73%.

QantasLink recorded the highest cancellation rate, with 3% of services failing to take off. This was ahead of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (2.2%), Jetstar (1.9%), Virgin Australia (1.7%), Qantas (1.4%), Regional Express (1.1%) and Tigerair (0.8%).

The performance figures were collectively lower than June 2012 numbers however, with an average on time arrival figure of 79.4%, down on the 81.6% recorded a year prior.

Average on time arrivals also dipped, down from 79.1% in 2012 to this year's figure of 78%. And more passengers were left stranded this year with average cancellations jumping to 1.9%, up from 1.5% in June 2012.
