    We are looking for a self-motivated Operations Specialist (OS) to support a product that can change people’s lives! The OS is responsible for overseeing a set of booking requirements for our school groups. The role involves direct communication with suppliers and internal staff and management, requires close attention to detail and an ability to confidently make business decisions. The OS is responsible for understanding sales and operational guidelines in order to ensure a balance in meeting suppliers’ requirements, delivering quality programs, and meeting clients’ expectations.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees relationships with a group of suppliers
    • Allocates groups to suppliers taking into account quality and budget requirements
    • Tracks and maintains bookings from start to finish
    • Approves invoices
    • Troubleshoot before, during and post-tour
    • Answer pricing and itinerary questions to help maximise sales, while ensuring a high margin level and maintaining the highest possible tour quality.
    • Use knowledge of products and systems to assist in improvements to operational efficiency and tour itineraries.
    • Develop and implement new internal processes, rules and procedures based on the needs of the business.
    • Manage information in all internal systems.
    • Assist with maintenance of departmental databases using internal systems.
    • Prepare status updates or reports for manager as appropriate.
    • Provide support on other projects and tasks as requested by department management.
    • May be assigned responsibilities in other areas as per business needs

    • Capable of adhering to strict deadlines, and able to communicate urgency and inspire others to stay on track with any given deadline, project, or common goal
    • Engaged in how decisions impact customer experience and the bottom line
    • General understanding of the student travel industry and/or the WorldStrides business model
    • Knowledge of Australia and NZ destinations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to pick up new software quickly
    • Ability to multi-task projects and responsibilities and have strong prioritisation skills
    • Position is office-based in Essendon North, 3041 for a 90-day training and probationary period. Flexible work arrangements are offered after the probationary period.
    • University degree preferred
