Last Friday, Trafalgar managing director Jason Wolff went down to Tasmania to meet and host 20 loyal guests who all met on one of the wholesaler’s trips through Britain exactly 10 years ago.
The guests, from all over Australia, formed a lifelong friendship with their fellow trip guests 10 years ago and started a tradition to reunite annually in a different place across Australia and New Zealand, with everyone in the group taking a turn at hosting.
When Trafalgar caught wind of this wonderfully touching story, and to mark the 10th anniversary of their meeting, Wolff and the Trafalgar team decided to set up a very special ‘Be My Guest’ experience that the wholesaler is synonymous for, at the Shene Estate & Distillery in Pontville.
Owner David Kernke and his daughter Myfanwy were there to treat guests to a tour of the estate, a tasting of their famed Single Malt Whisky and Poltergeist Gin, as well as a lunch made from local produce.

“It was wonderful to see the camaraderie of the bond shared between these travellers,” Wolff said.
“This wonderful bunch of people were making speeches and reminiscing on their holiday that they had with us a decade ago.
“That’s the beauty of our trips – the real connections formed by experiencing these pinch-me moments together in these incredible destinations, not only with the locals, but with the likeminded travellers that you meet which result in lifelong friendships.
“It was really heart-warming to see that this tradition came together off the back of one of our trips all those years ago.”
