Riparide has announced their successful $4 million capital raise, backed by investment groups Macdoch Ventures and Upswell Ventures.
The Australian travel platform plan to use the capital to launch three international expansions.
The global expansion plan aims to allow city-dwellers in every major city around the world to have fulfilling moments in nature, beginning with Auckland, New Zealand.
Marlon Law, the co-founder of Riparide, commented on the capital raise saying he is happy to spread the opportunity to travel around.
“We’re excited to inspire more people to live life fully. Now, more than ever, society needs to disconnect from the stresses they face on the daily and plot weekend escapes. It’s fantastic to have such great partners backing Riparide’s mission,” Law said.
Eliza Jackson, venture associate at Macdoch Ventures, added to Law’s excitement. “We are thrilled to partner with Riparide to help them power their global expansion,” she said
“Riparide makes new regions easily discoverable with travellers’ stories, ensuring properties are controlled for factors like isolation and adventure. As a result, the time it takes to make a booking is far lower than other sites,” said Jackson.
Riparide’s global expansion is set to launch when COVID-19 restrictions ease, but in the meantime the booking company is focusing on domestic travel.
