Life in the time of COVID-19 with Aurora Expeditions’ Steve McLaughlin

This week, Aurora Expeditions’ APAC sales director reveals the secret ingredient of his famous chilli con carne and the best British crime shows to watch while eating it.

What are you watching?

I love British detective shows – currently I am enjoying a show on ABC iView set in Glasgow, it is called Annika – highly recommended!

What are you cooking?

I’ve recently learnt to cook a really good chilli con carne. The secret ingredient is cauliflower rice!

What’s something positive you’ve witnessed or experienced since the coronavirus hit?

People getting out into nature, enjoying the outdoors and exercising more. I have been doing more exercise than I would normally do too!

Earlier this year, the team at Aurora Expeditions took part in Steptember, taking more than 2 million steps whilst raising money to support people living with Cerebral Palsy.

What’s your advice for others in the industry on coping with the crisis?

Stay positive, get outside, speak to friends, stay connected and keep up to date with any training you can. And be ready for the return – once it happens, it will happen fast!

Where is your favourite domestic travel destination?

Palm Cove in Queensland.

Where do you want to travel to once international travel restrictions ease up?

I’m looking forward to going home to visit family and friends in Europe.
