QantasLink crew members hospitalised after reporting ‘unusual smell’ onboard flight

    A QantasLink crew member was taken to the hospital after they reported feeling unwell and described an unusual smell that they noticed on the flight.

    The flight was travelling from Canberra to Melbourne last night and made a safe landing just after 8 pm, the crew member was treated as a precaution.

    No passengers on board the plane reported similar issues.

    The plane is now set to undergo a precautionary maintenance check.

    A Qantas spokesperson said, “Pilots on a flight from Canberra to Melbourne reported an unusual smell in the flight deck before landing.”

    “The aircraft landed normally and the pilots and crew were assessed by ambulance officers on arrival in Melbourne.

    “The pilots did not require any treatment, however, one cabin crew member was taken to hospital for further medical checks.

    No passengers were impacted by the smell and the aircraft is being checked by engineering.”
