Singapore plans massive trade marketing push

Singapore plans massive trade marketing push
By admin

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has launched a 12-month long trade engagement initiative, aimed solely at Australian travel agents.

Echoing its Get Lost and Find the Real Singapore marketing campaign, the initiative aims to update travel agents on Singapore while challenging their perceptions of the destination as just another modern city or transit hub.

In partnership with Travel Weekly and Travel Today, STB will reach out to travel agents through a series of exciting events, famils, a customised destination guide and the launch of an interactive online game.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Travel Weekly and Travel Today in reaching out to travel agents to discover and rediscover Singapore.  We’re confident that working together, agents will gain a deeper insight into the contrast of cultures and breadth of experiences that Singapore offers today," area director Oceania Sharon Lam said.

Travel Weekly and Travel Today’s editor in chief, Dan Uglow, said “It’s tremendously exciting for us to be working on such a project and offering our readers such a unique set of opportunities.”

“We’re going to take Travel Pursuit, the industry’s biggest trivia night and our quest to find Australia’s smartest travel agency, around Australia with STB. And at the same time we’ll be co-creating all sorts of new and innovative ways to communicate with travel agents. Watch this space!”
